Man arrested in connection with stabbing Bury St Edmunds |

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an attack in Bury St Edmunds at the weekend.
Police were called at just before 10.15pm on Sunday 22 March to reports of a serious incident in Mortimer Road.
A man aged in his 40s was found to have sustained stab wounds and was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His condition is now described as serious but stable.
Five male suspects, wearing dark clothing and face coverings were reported fleeing the location.
Last night, Wednesday 25 March, officers arrested a 44-year-old man in south London on suspicion of attempted murder. The man – who is from the Brixton area - was initially taken into police custody in London but will be transported back to Suffolk today for questioning.
Officers have been undertaking additional uniformed patrols in the area of Mortimer Road to provide reassurance to the local community.
Detectives continue to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact police and this includes anyone driving in the area around the time that may have dash camera footage.
